Been working on getting my now 19mo old to identify herself by name. This is a pretty huge developmental milestone and one I’ve been looking forward to. She’s great at saying her name but hasn’t gotten the concept of saying it’s her name.
“What’s his name?” I ask pointing at Jeff.
“Papa,” Sadie declares.
“What’s my name?” I ask pointing at myself.
“Mama,” Sadie says lovingly with a huge grin.
And this next question has been asked numerous times:
“What’s your name?” I ask.
“I Sadie,” she shouts as patting her chest.
Oh my. The world was shaken by our joy! Success. She gets it. She truly gets it.
